**Organize Your Best Ideas and Power Your Agents with Smarter Stock Selection**

Focus Lists in Option Circle help you streamline idea generation and automate smarter trading decisions. Whether you’re building your own high-conviction stock list or exploring market trends and technical setups, Focus Lists give your strategies a refined starting point.

## What Are Focus Lists?

Focus Lists are curated stock watchlists that guide your Agents in what to trade. Instead of scanning the entire market, your strategies can act on a defined set of symbols—giving you more control, clarity, and alignment with your views.

There are four types of Focus Lists you can use:

- **Custom Lists**: Manually built lists tailored to your interests
- **Thematic Lists**: Trend-based groupings like AI, Green Energy, or Cybersecurity
- **Technical Lists**: Generated from market insights using technical filters like RSI, MACD, candlestick patterns, etc.
- **AI-Curated Lists** *(Coming Soon)*: Smart lists built using Option Circle’s signal engine

## Where to Find It

You’ll find **Focus Lists** in the left-hand navigation menu under “Stock Focus List.” From here, you can:

- Browse personal or community-created lists
- Create your own from scratch
- Import a list via CSV
- Build a list directly from technical filters

## Types of Lists and How to Use Them

### 1. Custom Lists

Perfect for building your own high-conviction stock list. For example, if you're interested in “The Magnificent 7” tech giants, here’s how you’d do it:

**Steps:**

1. Click “Create List”
2. Choose **Custom**
3. Name it: Mag 7 Tech Plays
4. Add description (optional)
5. Add symbols: TSLA, AAPL, NVDA, MSFT, GOOGL, META, AMZN
6. Click Save

Now this list will appear under your **Personal** lists.

### 2. Community & Thematic Lists

Explore lists created by others or curated around themes like "Crypto Infrastructure" or "Clean Energy." You can click the “eye” icon to view the symbols included.

Use Case: If you're running a thematic strategy (e.g., “Buy Calls on AI Stocks During Earnings Season”), just select the “AI & Machine Intelligence” list from the thematic tab.

### 3. Technical Lists

Technical Lists are created based on market signal filters from Option Circle’s **Market Insights > Technical Analysis** section.

**Example: Build a Bullish Reversal List**

1. Go to “Market Insights”
2. Click “Technical Analysis”
3. Filter by index (e.g., S\&P 500)
4. Select a signal (e.g., Bullish Engulfing)
5. Click “Preferences” and save as a list (e.g., SPX Bullish Patterns)

This list will now show up under your **Technical** lists in the Focus Lists panel.

### 4. Importing a List

If you have an existing list in Excel or another platform:

**Steps:**

1. Click “Import”
2. Download the sample CSV template
3. Format your file using the template (note: use ^ in front of indices like ^SPX)
4. Upload the file
5. Choose to “Replace” or “Add” symbols to an existing list
6. Click OK to save

## Example Use Cases

| Scenario | How Focus Lists Help |
| -------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Building a long-term dividend strategy | Use a Custom List of high-yield stocks (e.g., KO, PG, XOM, PEP) |
| Trading short-term earnings setups | Create a Technical List of stocks with high IV Rank or MACD cross |
| Following market themes | Apply Thematic Lists like “Cybersecurity” or “Electric Vehicles” |
| Running speculative momentum agents | Use Technical Lists like “Breakout Over 52-Week High” |

## Best Practices

- **Start simple**: Begin with a few focused symbols and expand as you gain confidence.
- **Label clearly**: Use descriptive names like “SPY Income Trades” or “0DTE Tech List”
- **Align lists to strategy goals**: Don't feed speculative lists to defensive agents (and vice versa)
- **Update regularly**: Review your lists as markets evolve to keep your ideas relevant
